| This paper overviewed the development of leisure agriculture in China, analyzed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) in the process of leisure agriculture development in Chongqing, and established the development strategy matrix of leisure agriculture in Chongqing. The results showed that the strengths and opportunities of leisure agriculture′s development in Chongqing included beautiful natural landscape, rich folk culture, convenient transportation, more customers, and policy safeguard. The unsound system, imperfect laws and regulations, small and scattered leisure attractions, lack of professional talents and the surrounding urban competition were major challenges and threats. Finally, it put forward four patterns for the development of leisure agriculture, i.e., the rural agricultural tourism, folk customs tourism, farm house enjoyment, the participation experience tour, etc. |
